Court Love, See Love, Choose Love Now

While love and fear cannot coexist (the presence of one will suppress the experience of the other), in the illusory continuum of time and space they seem to coexist.  Thus we vacillate from moment to moment, from fear to love and back to fear again, with fierce speed and regularity.  What we focus our powerful minds upon becomes our experience.  This is why A Course in Miracles advises us to “be vigilant ONLY for God and His Kingdom.” (ACIM Urtext T 6 H 3)  The ego—the part of us that believes in being separate from God—will always come up with something “not God/not the Kingdom” to which we can GIVE our attention, along with a good rationalization for it.  Even our very belief about our own identity will follow this attention.

“. . . what the Holy Spirit REJECTS the ego ACCEPTS.

This is because they are in fundamental disagreement about everything,

because they are in fundamental disagreement about WHAT YOU ARE.”

(ACIM Urtext T 6 H 2)

“Let it go, this too shall pass” is ALL about making room in our consciousness for the presence of love to be felt again.  But the ego (the author of our addictive response to the world) is cunning, baffling and powerful.  The ego is vigilant for ANY opportunity to lead us back into fear, aka “temptation.”

Part of being vigilant for God’s Kingdom is making room in our consciousness to experience it.  This includes clearing and releasing—all the kicking, screaming, crying and grieving of healing work.  If we’ve been doing our healing work and are in a place of peace around our “big” core issues, we can anticipate that the ego will prowl our lives for small stuff to be upset about.

For example, my ego is quick to ask me why I’m writing this NOW?  I have a client coming and I’m not yet ready.  My accounting awaits my loving attention, piled high and a month overdue.  My ego nature tempts me to be upset about this—even just a little nervous would be fine.  ANY response from me that is not peace and love would suit the ego’s purposes.  But “I rule my mind, which I alone must rule.” (ACIM Workbook Lesson 236)  For now I am vigilant only for God’s Kingdom, and so I choose to share these thoughts and this video with you:

I love your words with their message to remind us that we do have a moment-by-moment choice for either love or fear (in it many forms). The choice we make is the gift to God we place on the altars of our minds – till there is only one choice and One Mind. (I also love the video with its upbeat energy :-).

Thank you, Lynne! You are so right that each time we choose love our choice becomes a gift to God–and is saved for us in our “storehouse of treasures.” Imagine the grandeur of all these seemingly small choices amassed–the little smiles, the thoughts of compassion, the sharp words left unsaid, the pats, the touches, the silent prayers, the willingness to “step into” another point of view–each one a magnificent gift to God and ourselves, in and of itself. Glad you enjoyed the video! ❤ ❤ ❤
